5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Daughter

Carrie Gourley will be leading a new bible study for moms with daughters called "5 Conversations You Must Have With Your Daughter." You can contact Carrie or the church office for more information.

A note from Carrie...

This study addresses how we, as mothers, need to counteract the world’s message and instead rely on God and his word to impact our daughters' lives. I am a firm believer that the world is a very loud place and is constantly sending the wrong messages to our daughters about friends, family, self-image, dating and sex. I feel so old when I talk like this, but the fact is, the world is a very different place than when we grew up. We need to stand up for our daughters and influence them before they become influenced by the world.

Women's Bible Study

Currently, the Women's Ministry at Dover is conducting the new Beth Moore Bible study titled, "The Inheritance."

The group meets every Monday night from 7:00 - 8:30 p.m. in church Auditorium. The nine session DVD series is a topical study of Inheritance throughout God's Word. Key verse: Psalm 16:5-6 "The lines have fallen for me in pleasant places; indeed, I have a beautiful inheritance." For more information contact Jan Taylor or the church office.

Current Adult Bible Study Topics

Every Sunday from 9:00 - 10:00 a.m., several adult Bible studies meet in various parts of the church.

The current studies include:

A study of Job is being led by John Puckett in the Auditorium.
A study of Acts is being led by Dick Schrier in the front of the Fellowship Hall.
A study of Exodus is being led by Ed Rice in the Parlor.
A study of Hebrews is being led by Jeff Thacker in Room 104.
A study regarding eternity is being led by Charlie Carter in the back of the Fellowship Hall.

DCC now has a new way to distribute media and videos of church events to our congregation and guests!

Dover Christian Church now has its own channel on YouTube. Currently, the Lifehouse Everything Drama performed by our Sr. High youth and a handful of puppet videos produced by our puppet team have been uploaded onto the channel. Women's Conference was a success!

Thanks to everyone who helped make this year's Abundant Blessings Women's Conference an uplifting, enlightening, and entertaining good time!

This year's Abundant Blessings Women's Conference was a huge success...we were all blessed to hear the speakers, sing (and learn) some great songs, eat some good food, and watch a wonderful performance of Star Queen by John and Tommy Oaks. Thanks to all those who attended and all those who contributed to make it a great day. If you missed this year's conference, stay tuned for next year's, because we're already thinking about what we can do to make it even better.

Jr High Lake Retreat rescheduled for Nov 14/15

Due to illnesses in the group, we need to postpone our Jr High Retreat that was scheduled for this weekend (Oct 17/18).

Unfortunately, the bug that's been going around has caught up with several members of our group, including at least one leader. We don't want to risk infecting more kids with whatever this is, so we've decided to reschedule the retreat for November 14th & 15th. The same times and schedules will apply to that weekend (leave the church at 2PM Saturday the 14th, return around Noon Sunday the 15th).

Sorry for the short notice...hopefully everyone gets the message. More important, hopefully everyone that was planning on going (20+ kids at last count!!) will still be able to go in November.

Starting this Sunday, March 29th, we will be posting all of John's (our Senior Minister, John Puckett's) sermons here on our website.

To access them go to the Resources tab under our logo (at the top of your screen) and select "Sermons" from the drop-down menu. Once there you can click on and listen to any sermons that are posted.
